A Convening for Business Support Practitioners, Capital Providers, Ecosystem Builders and Philanthropic Partners
Join the BUILD Collaborative for an interactive discussion on building a stronger Dallas small business ecosystem. In this session, we will explore alternative funding models that address the personal wealth and opportunity gaps in our region with a panel of subject matter experts. Additionally, a member of the Chicago small business ecosystem on how standard outcomes and metrics for training, counseling, and financial services providers can help improve small business services.
According to a 2019 study by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, small businesses make up 99.9% of businesses in the US economy. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, 62% of Texas businesses surveyed reported experiencing a financial challenge. Additionally, 37% of minority-owned businesses reported challenges with accessing credit. Beyond financial challenges, many employer firms require some financing to start their business (Kauffman).
